Traditionally spinach is considered to have originated from Persia, however it spread abundantly throughout Asia and reached the European continent in the 14th century. It belongs to the Chenopodiaceae family along with amaranth, qunioa and beet.

Organic spinach powder is extremely concentrated as fresh spinach leaves contains 93% water. This means that just 1kg of spinach powder is the equivalent of 14.28kg of fresh spinach leaves!
