Organic Reishi Mushroom Powder
Reishi Mushroom Powder is an ancient medicine cited thousands of years ago in several Chinese texts as being a tonic for emperors. Traditional and contemporary Chinese medicine admire it as a tonic benefiting ‘vital energy’ or ‘Qi’, and it is prescribed for a multitude of maladies. Reishi is a polypore mushroom that grows in damp, dark forests and the occasional rotting log. Recent demand has enabled its cultivation in Japan, China and the United States which is promising for the wild stands of reishi.
Our organic reishi contains a minimum of 2% polysaccharides and more than 0.5% triterpenes.
Only the top is used to make this powder, with as little stem as possible. The larger the mushroom the better

Grown on wood
Our reishi powder is grown on duan wood (logs) for maximum nutritional spectrum.
Suggested use:
Use ½-1½ teaspoons 2 times a day (morning & afternoon) – add to juice (due to the trademark bitterness of reishi), smoothies or make a hot tea. Best taken with vitamin C. Research shows that vitamin C increases the absorption of polysaccharides in the body. So add an orange or a multivitamin to your reishi routine.

How our Reishi Mushroom Powder is processed
Our reishi mushroom grows on a planting base located in Qingyuan county. Known as China’s ‘mushroom city’, it is also recognised as having the best ecological environment in the country. Our supplier has been exporting products to Europe and the US for over 15 years and is a technological leader in the cultivation of mushrooms. Temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, light intensity and nutrients are all closely monitored to maintain optimum growth conditions.
The reishi mushrooms are cultivated on wood, using the bark of the basswood tree. The wood is cut into 30cm sections which are sterilised using hot steam. The pieces of wood are placed within plastic bags and reishi mushroom spores are placed on the wood surface, under sterile conditions. When left in the appropriate growth conditions (warmth and moisture) the spores grow and spread across the basswood nutrient source. The reishi spores are cultivated this way for about four months and then moved to a growing base where temperatures are maintained at around 25°C. The basswood cultivars are buried just beneath the soil surface, and over the next three months the mature mushrooms grow out.
Between August and October each year, these full-sized mushrooms are harvested. The mushrooms are inspected individually to ensure they are the correct quality, size and colour, before being cleaned and fully dehydrated. The dried mushrooms can then be mechanically pulverized into a fine powder.
