Marshmallow Root Tincture (Althaea officinalis radix) – 50ml 1:2 Ratio

This marshmallow root tincture is a 1:2 extract of the Althaea Officinalis Radix root, this means that this is a very concentrated product with 33% marshmallow root in every bottle.

This marshmallow root tincture is a root extract of the Althaea Officinalis Radix root which originates from Europe, North Africa, and Asia and grows around marshes and river banks. It has a long history of medicinal use dating back to Ancient Egypt (as far back as 2000 BC).

Marshmallow root contains many beneficial compounds, it is anti-inflammatory an antibacterial. It has a high mucilaginous content so it acts as an enzyme to dispel mucous and impede bacteria. Obviously there’s a lot we can’t say about this product but here’s a good article with more info.

Dosage and serving suggestions

We always recommend consulting a registered herbal practitioner, but a common suggested dose is 1-2ml, 2-3 time a day in water. This is a lower dose than you may see elsewhere but this is due to the high strength of this extract.
